Our Dietitian - Kate Wengier, APD AN

Kate Wengier is the proud mother of two young boys. She is an accredited practicing dietitian with an interest in creating healthy families. She is dedicated to raising her children to enjoy a wide variety of foods, have an interest in cooking and fresh produce and a healthy attitiude towards food. She aims to help other families develop healthy eating by creating supportive family eating environments.

Kate has a passion for health promotion and believes in the prevention of lifestyle diseases through improved nutrition. She enjoys assisting clients to reach and maintain a healthy weight through lifestyle changes rather than restrictive diets.

Kate is often complimented by collegues and clients for her passion, natural flair and enthusiasm.

She understands the challenge of preparing healthy meals in a hectic lifestyle, the struggles of trying to get her husband to eat more vegetables, the let down of a toddler who refuses to eat a lovingly prepared meal whilst trying to find time to be physically active.

And now for the technical jargon...Kate is a member of the DAA, an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and an Accredited Nutritionist (AN). She has a degree in Health Promotion. Kate won a number of dietetic and academic awards including the DAA (Vic Branch) student prize for excellence and the Deakin University Alfred Deakin Medal for outstanding academic achievement in 2004. She is commited to constantly updating her skills in general healthy eating, weight loss and childhood/family nutrition.
